Founded in 2009 by independent dance artists, Amanda Acorn and Eroca Nicols, then in 2010, the TO Love-In became a not-for-profit artist-run collective. Over the next 10 years, Acorn and Nicols were joined by Amelia Ehrhardt, Madeleine Shen, Meryem Alaoui, Katya Kuznetsova, Vanessa Jane Kimmons (vjk), Tina Fushell, Kate Nankervis, Robyn Breen, Camille Rojas, Ann Trépanier, Oriana Pagnotta, and Shelby Wright.

Love-In projects and programs made a huge impact on Toronto's experimental dance scene: offering dance workshops for local TO dancers by local, national and international teachers; Curated PS: We Are All Here, a performance series for new works, the only one of its kind at the time; Summer Love-In Intensive; Collective Practice Projects; Community Meetings & Town Hall - many of the programs and projects were created as a response to need to independent dancers practicing and dancing in Toronto.

Kate, a dedicated co-artistic director from 2010 to 2019, played a pivotal role in shaping TO Love-In's trajectory for long-term sustainability and fostering creativity and community for the organization's presence.
