(in)visible lines (2016)

Research and Residency - Athen Video Dance Project

"(in)visible lines" is a short hybrid performance that integrates image, sound, and movement, conceived and crafted through an interdisciplinary research residency culminating in the Athens Video Dance Project festival in January 2016. An exploration of internal and external boundaries within public space and the body, this project explores visible and underlying borders, dissecting the interplay on both individual space and social places. The performance uses choreography and improvisation by Kate Nankervis and Kostis Tsiamagkas to navigate a responsive audiovisual environment designed by Berlin-based musician Albrecht Ziepert and Athen-based media/visual artist Erato Tzavara. Dancers' movements interact with various trigger areas on stage, their live recordings are interpreted both sonically and through video.
